In the Valley of Games, summer is all about pleasure hiking, sports, and family.
The summer highlights includes:

  • Four comfortable cable cars to the most beautiful panoramic points
  • 400 km of well-marked hiking trails to the most beautiful panoramic points
  • Around 200 km of marked cycling and mountain biking routes
  • 30 rustic huts with food service – alpine festivals from mid-June to mid-October
  • Austria’s largest high ropes park
  • Many attractions for children and teenagers such as Montelino’s Adventure Trail, Berg Kodok, Teufelswasser, etc.

Tour suggestions

For every fitness level, there is a suitable hiking tour around Saalbach-Hinterglemm, with 400 km of hiking and alpine trails.
Here are some examples:

  • Zwölferkogel Loop Trail (low difficulty)
    With the Zwölferkogel cable car, you can comfortably reach the mid-station. Then continue on foot for seven kilometers, passing by the picturesque reservoir, among other things. Ideal with children!
  • Reiterkogel (medium difficulty)
    From the mountain lift, you have a breathtaking view. After an exciting gondola ride, you can enjoy the picturesque nature up close.
  • Pinzgauer Walk (high difficulty)
    Visit the most beautiful spots of the Pinzgau – Marxtenscharte, Seetörl, Klinglertörl, Klammscharte, and Rohrertörl. For this hike, you should be in good physical condition

Hike to Reiterkogel

Guided mountain hike to Reiterkogel

  • Meeting point: 09:30 AM at the Reiterkogel valley station in Hinterglemm
  • Hiking time: approx. 5 hours
  • Route description: Ascent via alpine meadows to Reiterkogel – Hasenauerköpfl – descent via Rosswaldhütte – Pfefferalm back to Hinterglemm

Hike to Kleberkopf

Guided mountain hike to Kleberkopf

  • Meeting point: 09:30 AM at the Schattberg X-Press valley station
  • Hiking time: approx. 5 hours
  • Route description: Ascent via Wirtsalm – Spielbergtörl to Kleberkopf – descent via Spielberghaus and Paschaweg to Saalbach

Alpine Hut Hike

Guided alpine hut hike in the end of the valley

  • Meeting point: 10:10 AM at the Lengau bus stop
  • Hiking time: approx. 3.5 hours
  • Total duration: approx. 5 hours
  • Route description: Visit of a rustic hut – along the way you will learn interesting and valuable facts about alpine life in Saalbach Hinterglemm.
  • Route: Lengau – Forsthofalm

Pinzgauer Walk

Pinzgauer Walk (approx. 1,900 m) – demanding hike with breathtaking panorama

  • Meeting point: 09:00 AM at the Schattberg X-Press valley station
  • Hiking time: approx. 6 hours
  • Route: Ascent with the Schattberg X-press – Seetörl – Klinglertörl – Klammscharte – Schmitten – descent with the Schmitten cable car to Zell am See – bus ride back to Saalbach (bring food & drinks – the first serviced hut is only at the end of the hike!)
